I’m a Singaporean working in Los Angeles, California, in the United States of America. Currently working in PlayStation as a data engineering manager.
I had been in CBS Interactive (now Paramount Global) since April 2011 as a software engineer focusing on Search Engine Optimization (SEO). From there, I worked on various data projects for CNET, ZDNet, Gamespot, Tech Republic, and the central data team at CBS Interactive.
In Aug 2016, CBS Sports offered me a position as a Data Engineer to work on sports predictions and AI initiatives in CBS Sports, and I flew half the globe to another sunny place to continue my career. Eventually, I led a team to focus on sports predictions and became a data engineering manager focusing on data science.
During my tenure at CBS Sports, I taught at a data analytics boot camp after office hours at the University of Miami in 2019. After going through a course with the students, I realized they needed more knowledge and practice than before, and this site could potentially supplement their understanding and skill in data.
Studied and graduated from New York University (NYU) Stern School of Business with a Master of Science (MS) in Business Analytics in 2021.
I moved on from CBS Sports to PlayStation in April 2022, which marked exactly 11 years with Paramount Global. I’m very grateful for the time there, as it was my foundational years in the tech space.
The desire to teach and impart skills never subsided, even though I moved from coast to coast. I hope to continue this passion, and may it be a blessing to you as much as I enjoy doing it.
